Description

DeranaCommunity Development Foundation was initiated at 1999 as a student forum in University of Sri Jayewardenepura faculty of applied sciences. There was a most active Buddhist society and Environmental society was conducted various kind of activities for community welfare. We were active members of it.

After university period we try to do something to society as graduates. But we haven’t suitable organization structure and enough fund resource. We were organized car wash programmes, Vesak greeting card campaigns, etc as fund rising activities. Most time we spend our own money.

Especially we are aim to forestry and agriculture-based programmes for public welfare. Almost all our members had biological sciences Knowledge. Education and awareness programmes also done.

Meanwhile we were registered under central environmental authority in Sri Lanka .Our Organization was got name called"Derana.It is a Sinhala name and their direct meaning is “Land”.

Since beginning of "Derana Community Development Foundation was done number of activities at deferent zones in Sri Lanka

Now we are finding enough funding resource and funding agents to supports our proposed activities. If “Derana” has enough fund resource we can contribute our young and fresh knowledge for national prosperity.
